Five years ago I was starting to get burned out at my social justice job. I am a fiery aries and love to blaze trails, set up programs and be a part of progressive movements. My passion to bring justice, connection and compassion to the world by supporting those who experienced these awful things started to fizzle.
Burned out looks different on everyone. Many healers, aka: social justice advocates, human service workers, thought leaders, change agents and even holistic healers are super passionate and *feel* super deep. We feel others' pain. We're empathetic.
Spiritually, when we are feeling the low vibe emotions: anger, frustration, victimization, martyrdom, abandonment, etc., it means that we have slipped out of alignment with our soul.
Over the years I have been able to develop tools and skills on how to 'Be The Change' on the most foundational way possible. This has drastically shifted my perspective and approaches with fellow humans, healers and how I move through this world.
Here's what I realized...
Are you sure you're ready for this??
Sensitivity is my superpower. And just like any super hero allowing myself time to develop and connect with my super power is important.
Being sensitive to energies is a gift! Truly!
((Now is the time to observe the, "Stop being so sensitive," or "Why are you so sensitive?" messages that others have told you for so long.))
Once I began to develop this skill and use it to my benefit, I was no longer at the mercy of other people's energies. I was no longer being drained of my energies and left with their trauma because I was trying to 'take it away' or 'help carry the burden' of their negative life experiences. I was no longer sick on a regular basis or angry at the injustices of the world! Hallelujah!
What happens is that we become so good at sensing others' energies that we disconnect from our own truth. It's when we disconnect from our own emotions, needs and intuitive information is when we get out of alignment and manifest dis-ease.
So here's the kicker.....Putting others before me and putting myself last is NOT healing for the world. Although this may not make sense to your brain or your ego, it is the truth. "If you want to change the world, you must change yourself first." In the oneness (we are all one), the changes we make to ourselves have a ripple effect on the entire world. This is where true change can happen each and every day. You cannot control the media, politicians, systems or awful people of the world. But you can control the energies of how you treat yourself. And that in turn, raises the vibrations of the world!
"When I honor my Self, I honor the Universe for the Universe and I are one."
I literally have this written on my bathroom mirror - what a great way to start and end my day!
Turbo charge your affirmation by:
- Saying (or signing) it out loud,
- While looking at yourself in the mirror while repeating it,
- Really *feel* the truth in it,
- Put your hand is sending love to your 3rd Chakra (on your stomach between your ribs and naval)
ReAligning with your soul knowings is my goal. Feeling that deep truth and allowing it to be expressed by living it each day. There is no greater feeling. When you are in alignment you feel JOY, peace, spirit, faith and most of all, presence. What a gift!
Just like many superheros, developing these unique gifts takes willingness, time and a mentor to help reveal them. This is my passion in life - to work with you while revealing your unique gifts! The tools, concepts and insights shared above are just the tip of the iceburg of the many more transformational concepts and tools that are only shared and taught in our Energy Medicine Mentoring Program! If you are a healer or are wanting to really develop your intuitive skills, our 1st Year Energy Medicine Mentoring Program is accepting applications! But make sure to head on over there now to read more about it because the deadline to submit your application is this Sunday, June 14th at 11:59pm! And the doors won't open for another year (at least).
Then when you've practiced your affirmation, please share what your experiences were with it. Also, if you can relate to being called 'sensitive' in a negative way or have ever experienced anything that has changed your life like this, share that in the comments below also. They have definitely changed my life forever.
Have a joyous and magical day, VIP!
